DEMENTIA

Paint, Paper, Pen, and Pencil

All people have fears, many avoidable, like roller coasters or claustrophobia. We can prepare for how to handle fears like needles, insects, or flying on airplanes. However, Dementia is not something we can predict, prepare for, or control. It is not a short-lived experience, and robs us of our most treasured possessions: our memories. Family, friends, and experiences slowly fade, and there is nothing that can be done to stop this destruction of the mind. That, by far, is what makes Dementia so cruel and so terrifying.

Life tends to flash before our eyes, moving quicker than we expect it to. With school, work, daily responsibilities, it is only natural to wish we could go back, relive our childhood, our fondest memories, and just stop time for a bit to breathe and appreciate life for what it is in that moment. This song perfectly encapsulates the longing to pause time, just breathe, and live in the moment.
