HAPPY PLACE
Watercolor
For my expressing emotions piece, I wanted to create something based off happiness/joy. My piece is a depiction of my mental “happy place” which includes being outdoors, flowers, and good weather. My “happy place” is a place where none of my responsibilities exist and I can do the things that I want to do while being in an environment that makes me feel content and calm. I used bright colors for the flowers and grass to make the scene feel light and happy but used softer, cooler colors for the mountains and sky to add a feeling of calm. I also incorporated some of my favorite colors, including purple and yellow.

Clay and Acrylic Paint
For my stress management piece, I created an incense holder out of clay and painted it with acrylic paint. I chose this for stress management because I frequently light incense and candles when I want to relax and calm down. I also wanted to step out of my usual comfort zone of 2D art and have been collecting handmade incense holder ideas in a Pinterest board for about a month now, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to try it myself. I kept the design minimal and decided to make a little frog chilling in a pond, partially because I love frogs but also because I wanted the subject of my piece to be doing a relaxing activity.
