Impressionism is an art movement that is characterized by visualizing a moment or a “slice of life.” I created an impression of a sunset at Lake Artemesia in Greenbelt, Maryland. I tried to incorporate visible brushstrokes and textures in my painting to emulate the style used by impressionist artists. For me, impressionist art can have a nostalgic feeling so I chose to paint a place that has meaning to me and my family.
